This outdoor milestone session was such a joy. Noah recently turned two, and he was full of curiosity and energy, exploring everything around him. Two-year sessions are some of my favorites because toddlers are at such a fun age — they love to move, play, and show off their personalities. Noah was no exception. From the moment we started, he was busy collecting sticks, wandering through the flowers, and enjoying the golden light of the evening.
We photographed his session outdoors during sunset, which gave the images a soft, warm glow. The combination of natural light, greenery, and soft earth tones created the perfect backdrop for his playful personality. I love capturing milestone sessions like this outdoors, where little ones have space to move and explore naturally.
Noah’s mom chose simple, classic outfits that let his personality shine — a cozy knit sweater and denim overalls that worked beautifully with the setting. These kinds of details really help tie everything together, giving each image a timeless look that parents will love displaying in their home.
At this age, milestone sessions are less about posing and more about connection and movement. I always let toddlers lead the way, capturing their curiosity, laughter, and those quick little glances that show who they are right now. Every stage of childhood is worth documenting, and turning two is such a special milestone to remember.
If your little one is about to celebrate a birthday, milestone photography is a wonderful way to preserve these fleeting moments. My Lodi studio offers both indoor and outdoor sessions designed to keep your child relaxed and happy throughout the process.
