Welcoming a newborn into the world is such a beautiful and fleeting time, and baby Deegan’s newborn session was filled with so many sweet moments. At just 7 days old, he arrived at the studio with his proud parents and excited siblings, ready to be photographed in all his brand-new perfection.
We started with some cozy, wrapped poses in warm, neutral tones, which really brought out Deegan’s beautiful features and his soft red hair. He slept so soundly, allowing me to capture those peaceful, curled-up newborn positions that parents love to remember. We included a variety of textures, from soft knits to smooth blankets, giving each setup its own unique feel. One of my favorites was Deegan snuggled in a woven basket, hands tucked under his chin, framed by moody, rich tones that made the image feel timeless.
Of course, we also made time for family portraits. Watching the older siblings gently hold and admire their baby brother was incredibly sweet — those candid connections are priceless. Family photos are such an important part of a newborn session because they tell the bigger story: not just of a baby’s arrival, but of how a family grows together.
Deegan’s session is a beautiful example of why the first two weeks are ideal for newborn photography. Babies are still in that sleepy, flexible stage, which allows us to create those classic poses while keeping them comfortable and safe. If you’re expecting and considering newborn photos, booking early ensures you’ll have a spot during that perfect window.
