Baby Nolan was 17 days old during his newborn session, and he was such a calm and content little guy. He slept so peacefully through each setup, making it easy to capture all those classic newborn poses that parents love. We used a combination of deep green tones, soft neutrals, and cozy textures to create a warm, organic feel throughout his session. The color palette suited him perfectly and brought out his sweet features.
One of my favorite things about photographing newborns at this age is how naturally they curl into those sleepy positions. Nolan gave us beautiful variety — from the froggy pose to wrapped portraits and simple, close-up shots that highlight his tiny details. His full head of dark hair and those perfect little lashes made every image feel timeless.
Each session in my Lodi studio is designed with comfort in mind, so babies stay relaxed while I work through different setups. Nolan’s session flowed beautifully, and we were able to include everything from prop poses to sweet blanket shots that show off his peaceful expressions. Parents often tell me how much they love having both styled and natural looks in their gallery, and Nolan’s collection had just the right mix.
These early days go by faster than anyone expects, which is why I always encourage families to book their newborn session early — ideally before baby arrives. Sessions are best done within the first few weeks of life when babies are still sleepy and flexible for posing. Whether you’re in Lodi, Stockton, or the nearby Central Valley areas, I’d love to help create beautiful portraits that capture your baby’s first days.
