Family Photographer in Roseville, CA
Serving Roseville
Relaxed, timeless family portraits for Roseville — in the Lodi studio or outdoors in the light your family actually lives in.
Families across Roseville trust Jesica Allen Photography with their most precious moments. For seventeen years and 224 five-star reviews, Jesica has photographed newborns, maternity, milestones, cake smashes, and families from Roseville and throughout the Central Valley.
Roseville is about an hour north of Lodi, so every session is an easy trip to her private studio in downtown Lodi. Family sessions run year-round, though autumn light books first — Roseville families planning around holiday cards usually reserve by late summer.
The Studio
Worth the drive to Lodi

A world-class 3,000 square foot studio in the heart of downtown Lodi, built entirely around families — a private kitchenette, a private family living room, and a private changing and feeding room, plus a children's make-believe playspace to keep little ones happy through the session.
For family sessions the space is what matters — room enough to photograph three generations without anyone pressed against a wall, a lounge for whoever is not in front of the camera, and a playspace that buys the twenty minutes small children will not otherwise give you. Roseville families arrive, settle in, and leave the rest to Jesica.

Roseville
A little about Roseville
Roseville is a railroad town — Junction on the Central Pacific line from 1864, a city once Southern Pacific brought its yard down from Rocklin in 1906. The grid still runs either side of the track, and Vernon Street, one of the five named in the original layout, is still the middle of it. The Town Square that opened there in 2013 is where the place gathers, and it has the easy, unhurried feel of a town that likes itself.
For family sessions the draw is the greenway rather than the downtown. The Miners Ravine trail follows Dry Creek through oak woodland and meadow, paved the whole way and wide enough for a pushchair, with interpretive markers and a grinding stone left by the Maidu along it — so older children have something to walk toward rather than a field to stand in. It is one of the nicer hours anyone can spend outdoors this side of the foothills.
Maidu Regional Park is the practical choice with several children. A hundred and fifty acres, a rose garden, playgrounds, and somewhere to park within sight of where you are photographing — the things that quietly decide whether a family session is a pleasure or an ordeal, and rarely the things anyone thinks to ask about beforehand.
Jesica photographs up here often and has a genuine fondness for Roseville families, who tend to arrive relaxed and stay that way. Roseville is about an hour from the studio, so late afternoon is the answer nearly every time: the oaks hold their shade, the paths empty as the day cools, and children are past the worst of the afternoon rather than in it. Families who would rather not travel come to the Lodi studio instead — the same session photographed indoors, and with a baby under three months usually the kinder option.
“My husband and I had newborn photography done by Jesica and she is so professional, friendly, and approachable. We love, love, LOVE the photos we had done. She is very good at directing us in the pictures — her years of experience really show.”
